I have a 1989 boat with the omc cobra o/d. The problem is the lower unit will not stay trimed up. After aliitle time the lower unit will slowly fall. I have replaced the pump, also rebuilt one of the cylinders. There are no visible leaks. The unit will raise and lower at normal speed when using the trim. Please give me any advice. Thanks

Ive got the same issue. I talked to a marine mechaninc, he said its a very common problem and you cant do much about it without spending lots of $$. He said that over time the seals in the O/D actuators get worn and leak pressure back to the system . More of an irritation than a real problem.

Thanks for the reply. U R right, it's more of a pain than a problem.

How much money are we talking about? I have the same problem, and the outdrive is sitting on the ground after 12 hours! I need to fix it in order to trailer the boat.

I have an 88 Cobra Drive. I don't currently have this problem, but to avoid it I use those clip on trailering clips. They snap on to the extended cylinders and brace the drive for trailering. You could use these as well to keep your drive from falling while towing. I got mine for $15 on Ebay. Mine are made by Morse.
