I am trying to replace the gear shift cable on my 87 omc cobra outdrive and it is not going as easy as I thought it would be. I have a manual but it is not very discriptive on how to do the job it is only showing adjustments. I have the outdrive off and 90 percent of the old cable out but the brass nut on the outdrive screws in from the back side. Do I need to dissasemble the rest of the outdrive to get to that wrenching surface or is there a trick I don't know about?
