OMC Cobra Tilt Trim Priming

Hi All

Just putting my Glastron together (year 3) and can not seem to get the tilt trim pump to prime.

I had the hoses off for the rebuild in my signature; they are back in place now. They lost fluid in the process. So I need to refill..

Electrics work fine. And everything worked when I pulled her apart.



But when I:

-Fill to the top of the hole on the side of the pump reservoir
-Return the red plastic plug.
-Cycle up and down 5 times or so

...and I remove the plug to find the fluid level did not drop. I cannot add more. What ever I add, pours out..It's full.



The stern-drive does not even have a hint of movement while trying to go up or down.

Any ideas what I am missing? Is there supposed to be a vent for the air to escape? Or....?

Arf....never mind, it would be difficult to imagine what the problem was: I mounted the trim pump upside down, with the reservoir on the bottom.

The kind of issue that only happens when you pull a boat apart, and put it back together.

I better double check that the bow is still at the front.
