OMC Cobra to mecrury ontdrive??

Hi everyone! Just catching up on my reading. I read a post on this site called Dan's I/O transom repair and he states he is not worried about having a Cobra outdrive on his boat that he is repairing because if the Cobra dies he can just replace it with a Mercury out drive. Is this true? Is it that easy? Just a simple bolt up? Thanks Ernie

Yes, SEI now has a conversion kit to put the Alpha I Gen II drive onto the Cobra transom shield.
