Well, as I read through many of the posts, I am glad to see I am not the only bonehead out there. I recently purchased an OMC Cobra 3.0L that needed some work on the lower gear case. I rebuilt the lower gear case successfully, however did not realize the upper an lower gear cases were connected for lubrication via the driveshaft. I shelled out the upper gear case.
Does anyone have any good sources for used parts? I have several good leads on used upper gear cases, just thought maybe someone else may have a resource? I think I want to stick with a used unit, as the rebuild costs seem really high. I am very new to all this and just learning the ropes.
