I have a 1993 5.8 L OMC Cobra
Recently my dealer replaced the output shaft seal on my boat.
Now the boat has a vibration when in gear. It also is making a whining sound. The sound intensifies when you turn tighter to the right or left. To me, it sounds like somthing is tight. This sound is not apparent when boat is out of water.
Initially I thought the dealer forgot to shim or align the shaft or outdrive when they were putting it back together. After talking to the dealer, they insist there is nothing to shim or align and the noise was probably there all along.
I know the noise and vibration were not there prior to taking the boat in for the seal repair.
What do you think?
