I have been reading posts concerning these spark plug wiring coil kits. How to attach spring to plug wire. I shoved pointed end down center of plug wire, turned spring so wire came back outside and behind stub end. bent stub end towards spring. exposed steel 1/8th inch is pushed towards spring- seems ok- Question though I have 1 very small grommet. came in seperate small bag. 20 gauge wire dia. .. what is it ? why do i need it ?

If by grommet, you're speaking of a small "O" Ring.... there are (or were) a few coils on the market that use those "O" Rings as a seal to prevent moisture for gaining entrance. Also a sleeve is used on a few models that slide over the wire, and then after the wire is secured within the coil, the sleeve is slid up against its entrance way as a seal.

I just saw one from another kit. Rubber grommet is slid over the coil wire. I guess its a spacer to keep wire from rubbing.

I also have what looks like shrink tubing. Instructions say to use two pieces, 2 inches long. One end must go up against small opening of boot connection huh
