I have a 1983 35 hp elcts.....my controller is the type with the warm up lever on top and the horn on the inside of the controller....there is a slot to test the horn above the key switch where u insert a key to test....I tested last summer and was fine,,this year it did not buzz,...I tested the horn with 12 volts nothing....

now my question is...since the horn is like 75.00.. alot for that horn..can I wire a warning light or a 12 buzzer to that circuit...I have a LED display has 7 LEDS and a buzzer..it is 12 volts....its like a back up warning device for trucks or cars....I did not want to try it until I got a answer here....

I also have piezo electric horns...I tried them on the battery power ..they work fine...

can I wire these in the controller circuit with out any problems to engine electronics....

Thanks

thanks Ezeke....next time I am going to the Cape fishing..I will let you know..take you Smallmouth bass fishing.....some good place where you live...lol....

the LED horn assembly just draws 1.3 amp...the lites are super brite and flash...and the horn is loud...when this goes off you better have sun glasses on...lol....

good idea..I will install a test switch also.....

Thanks
