going to look at a used Cobra outdrive. How can I check to make sure it is geared for a V8?

I am guessing the only one you can count the teeth on is the one laying down when looking from the top. Would this be the 21, or the 17 and/or 16 tooth gear. If it is a V6 drive would it still have one gear with 21 teeth?

The driving gear (upper) would have 21 teeth and the driven gear (lower) should have 16 teeth for your 5.7 liter. The driven gear (lower) is the one that has a varying number of teeth anywhere from 16 to 20. All their drive gears (upper) have 21 teeth.
