AFTER READING ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF LIQUID ENGINE TUNERS I DECIDED TO BUY A CAN OF OMC ENGINE TUNER FOR MY NEW (100 HRS 2001 EVINRUDE 150 HP)ENGINE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CAN HAS AT ITS TIP A HOSE WITH AN ATTACHMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE THE ONE USED IN THOSE TIRE INFLATOR CANS. MOREOVER, THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY THAT THE HOSE IS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE PRIMER LEVER VAVE. MY ENGINE HAS ONLY ONE PLACE WHERE THE TUNER HOSE CAN BE ATTACHED, HOWEVER, THE MANUAL SAYS THAT THIS VALVE IS A FUEL PRESSURE TEST POINT. IS THIS THE PLACE TO ATTACH THE ENGINE TUNER HOSE? IS THE FUEL PUMP THE PRIMER VALVE THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS REFER TO?
PLEASE, I NEED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE ENGINE TUNNER, AND HOW TO PLUG IT TO THE ENGINE.

If its a red lever on a black cylinder, then yes, that's where you put it. Turn the red lever 180 degrees first.

JJ, I have a 2001 250hp ficht that I just did. You don't use the can with the hose. There is another one that comes without a hose. It's sprayed directly into the intakes. There's an excellent article in Bass & Walleye boats that tells you how, August issue. It also explains how to index the plugs. Also check boatsetup.com evinrude forum and search "decarb". hope this helps.

Dave
