omc engine

Hi everybody. Sorry my english is very poor, but I neeed some help.<br />have a Omc King cobra spitfire 330 hp. (5.7 litre I thik)<br />Someone can tell me of what year is? Max rpm? and other specs.<br />Live in Argentina, and here its very hard acquiring information.<br />Thaks to all of you and, again sorry for my Tarzan english,

go to www.dougrussell.com<br />look around in the OMC parts section, you may be able to find out what years the splitfire ignition system was used on that engine. If you have the serial and model #s you can contact an OMC dealer, they may be able to look it up for you.

If you could post the engine model # it would help. I don't think the 5.7 ever put out 330 hp but the 7.5 did however I don't think they ever put the spitfire ignition in the 7.5? model # will tell a lot, should be on a plate probably on one of the rocker covers.

Another suggestion is to go to eBay.com and search for OMC factory manuals. If you keep watch on the auctions you may get lucky and find an "OMC FACTORY MANUAL" for your model number sterndrive. The factory service manual is the first source of all knowledge! Hope this suggestion helps.
