I have a 24v Evinrude trolling motor on my boat and its seen better days as it needs quite a few parts replaced to make it operate smoothly. I was wondering how much thrust it has since It moves my boat good enough at 2.5mph in 24v mode and want to replace it with a new minnkota V2 Power drive. It has a 12v/24v switch and a 3 position roller switch on a metal foot pedal if that helps and its the 80's evinrude lighter metallic blue color.

And for the heck of it I also have a Johnson 12v trolling motor hanging in the garage also which has a infinatly adjustable roller switch on a metal foot pedal also but it doesn't move my boat good enough on windy days, any idea on the thrust of this one?

If it is foot controlled model the model number should be on the side of the foot controller. not sure where the model number is located on the tiller controlled units. If you had the model number I may have your thrust rating in my manual.

Re: OMC Evinrude Trolling motor info.

I have a listing for a BFL4 12/24 Volt and a BFL4P 24 Volt both are rated at 41 Lbs thrust A listing for a BFL4T 12/24 Volt and a BFL4TP both are rated at 56 Lbs thrust. The models with the "P" on the end are Pulse modulated models. I assume yours model is slightly older than the ones shown in my book but should be a 41 or 56 Lb rating. Not a lot of help I know but it will give you a ball park. Sorry no listing for your 12 Volt at all.

Reread your first post this morning when I was full awake, I had missed the part about the 12/24 Volt and the 3 speed switch, that confirms it is the BFL4 12/24 Volt which is a 41 Lb thrust, hope this helps.
