I have a sunbird boat with a 2.3L ford omc i/o. The motor locked up in it and i was wondering if i could bolt something bigger than a 4cyl up to the omc drive or do i have to stay with a 2.3L 4cyl will any other ford motor bolt up and how hard would it be

You can find the right adapters for just about anything.

However...If you go much beyond your current HP you will have to change the gear ratio in your drive. It would be like putting a big v-8 in a little pick up with 5.88 gears. Lot's of RPM (over revving) and little wheel speed.

Compensating with a bigger prop could cause damage too by putting too much on the gears and shafts and bearings.

If you are intent on this find a donor boat with at least the upper drive on it.
This is where the ratio is set.
