Re: OMC! Ford Motor or not?
Hi.. You definately have a ford there... The fireing orders give it away...The 289 and 302 Windsor engines are basicly one in the same....

The 351 Windsor is almost the same as the 289-302 with two major exception.. The 351W's intake manifold is different (larger) than the 289-302 because the block's deck height is taller on the 351W, making the area the intake manifold wider...

The other difference is the distributor on the 351W is just slightly longer because again the block's deck height is taller... I'm not absolutely sure here, but I think you can use the 302W distributor in a 351W but you will have to get a different drive gear for the distributor to allow for the difference... Might want to check that out with a Ford auto dealership..

Otherwise most brackets like the alternator bracket, ect., exhaust, and other accessories are the same and will probably bolt up without too much trouble...

The 351C (Cleavland) is a totally different animal all together... Valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds, distributor, and accessory brackets are not interchangable with the 289-302-351W...
