Sorry, I can't find the post I saw on this a couple of weeks ago. Apparently the cobra takes a higher viscosity oil, and it was recommended to use Hi Vis. The Hi Vis I saw was 80w 90...is this high enough? Is the Johnson Hi Vis higher than this? I used to just buy the OMC oil at the dealer but they obviously don't have it any more and I'd like to buy it somewhere else.

Re: OMC gear oil viscosity (again)

CRC makes a Hi Vis gear lube. That is what my manual calls for since there is no longer OMC hi vis available..
I bought mine thru Napa..Much cheaper than buying the small squeeze tubes online.
Napa gets it in 32 ounce bottles.Takes excactly 2 bottles in my Cobra outdrive.
They had to order mine but got it next day..
Some people run the merc 75w 90 synthetic in cobras but i stuck to what the manual called for.

Thanks. Well since Napa is farther away than the dealer I guess I'll just go back there and pay their higher price.
