I have picked up an 12 hp sea king. Looks like it needs new rings and coils. Are the parts that i need interchangeable with evinrude. Or am i barking up the wrong tree for this and if that is the case am I in for a wild goose chase to find parts? model # 15gg-9018

you may be on a wild goose chase, it is a 1951 motor here is a source for reprint of the manuals. http://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=models.main&year=1951&ID=135514

i think i would get the parts manual, and cross reference the parts and see what you can find still available. the guys over at http://www.aomci.org/ will be a big help.
