I have a 1999 200hp Evinrude FICHT motor on a 1999 Javelin & have to replace the ignition switch. Current switch has raised M, regular M, C, S, A terminals. New switch I bought has all but the A terminal. Instead of A it has I. It has a depression for another terminal that's not there that's labeled A. Is this the wrong switch or has the labeling changed & I 'ignition' is now used for 'accessory'?

Thanks in advance.
Rob

Re: OMC Ignition switch wiring

You have the wrong switch. That switch with the "I" terminal allows 12 volts to be applied to the powerpack (don't want that).

You need switch with the OMC part number 508180 or its equivalent (Sierra etc number).

Thanks Joe. I read a few similar posts from others & saw your replies to them... was hoping you were out there! Thanks again.
