Looks like my 5.7liter OMC Cobra lower unit gear housing has to be replaced because the carrier bearing wont seal deep inside, its just too pitted. A new housing runs 1800 bucks. So im going to have to go with a used one. Ive found several but dont know if it will fit. The GLM one seems to have a screen when mine does not. And are the outboard ones compatible? Some say v4, v6, 4.3l. 2.3 and so on. Here is pictures of both sides of my cobra.

I have a freind that has a brand new one, but Im not sure what omc leg it is for. I was going to use it as a spare for my 2.3L cobra, but the area where the prop shaft seal goes was too big. I will try to find out what it is for and let you know if you want.

Yeah does it have the 4 bolts that hold the carrier bearing in? and do you know the diameter of housing where the prop shaft is?
