OMC manifolds

My husband pulled manifold off OMC 3.0 motor today a got a big suprise, Manifold casting number shoud have been OMC part # 980083-980460-980957-982490-984054. (by all indications) Number was 910347, did the wrong manifold get put on this motor back in the past ? Do we really have a 3.0 L ? Brought boat used so we do not know what we have. They look the same, but looks can be decieving, hubby says if it will fit it will work. any ideas ?

Coork,<br /><br />I'm not sure it really matters as long as it worked OK. It's possible that casting numbers are not always the same as the service part numbers.<br /><br />I would replace it with whatever the dealer tells you is the right one. Might not be a bad idea to show the old one to the dealer. Also, it would be a good idea to have the model and serial numbers of the engine handy.
