Re: omc oil help

I would stick to regular oil.Synthetics can cause old seals to leak.
If it call for the OMC high Vis then you can use the Merc High performance gear oil.
Hi-Vis is no longer made.

Re: omc oil help

Ugh. I'm not going to post again for fear of starting an oil jihad, but synthetics don't cause seals to leak. They clean better than dino oil and get rid of crap blocking the seals, which have since dried out. The seals will very likely stop leaking, if they even do (I've never experienced this in many engines, many years of switching to synthecis - none of them have leaked), once the seals adjust.

Use the right weight and a name brand synthetic if it makes you feel better. At the end of the day, though you should be changing it so often that it doesn't matter.

You can use Mobil 1 gl-5 75w-90 synthetic gear lube in that.
