OMC outboard air filter

Does anyone know if OMC ever offered an air filter for larger outboards?

I had a friend ask. He has had more than one AZ dust storm blow over him while on the lake(s) around here. That stuff can't be good for the engine or carbs.

He runs a looper 120.

Re: OMC outboard air filter

We fooled around with something along those lines a few years ago on the offshore race boats. All of them looked terribly ugly. Also there were issues with tilt and steering range. We "borrowed" the idea from the ducted style Sea Drives. The hose went into the boat and we even fooled around with in line blowers to get an ample air supply.

The problem with the air filter in the airbox was that it didnt flow enough air especially for the looper. You might have him contact K&N to get their input. They have a lot of experience with marine filters.

Good luck!
