My father-in-law has a 1977 deckboat with a OMC outdrive. It has a through the transom steering connection. The plastic cable shield broke apart so a new cable is necessary. The part of the steering arm that mounts to the motor is on a tapered shaft and I have been told that I need to buy a replacement kit to retrofit for use with the current style of steering cables. <br /><br />Any advice on this perdicament and where to look for a reasonable priced retrofit kit.<br /><br />Any help would be appreciated.<br /><br />arlan
