today, while out on lake mead, my 1995 four winns overheated,<br /> it has a 4 cyl. inboard/outboard stern drive.<br /> the water pump belt would not turn, we had been in some shallow water earlier, some muddy areas,.I suspect mud had been drawn into the cooling system , and clogged it up?????<br /> eventually it cleared up, and the belt started to turn,for awhile it was not turning the water pump, impeller, and the motor got hot,,,,we let it cool, and then everything seemed ok?<br />although the other belt, alternator, did get a big strain,<br /> I have not been able to find a manual ,repair, for this model.<br /> as now I worry I need to change the impeller, but dont know how, and maybe new belts. <br /> the alt. belts looks as if the motor mount has to be removed to get to it?
