Hello;

Can anyone tell me if there is any function of this part other than connecting two sections of fuel and oil hoses? Example: sight-glass, check valve, vent, etc.

I broke mine, and after searching online (several hours), I found this part is no longer available. Not even on ebay.

Can I just replace this nipple with a couple barbed (brass) couplers (3/8" fuel, 1/4" oil)?

Thank you in advance.

location = Colorado.

Just to clarify, this is the connection nipple where the boat's oil and fuel lines connect to the outboard motor. It sits just inside the lower cowling where the hoses, and electrical harness, enter the engine.

Thank you.

Thanks racerone for the help.

Page 2-12 of the factory service manual does shed a little light on this nipple.
In Step 4, the manual states:
"To complete priming, squeeze the oil primer bulb until oil is visible in the sight tube." Figure 4 (pictorial for Step 4) points to the 0335626 part.
So this part was apparently designed to function as a sight tube.

I will bypass the nipple until I can locate a replacement part.
Bummer BRP quit the Evinrude/Johnson business altogether.
Parts are bound to get hard(er) to find.

Thanks again.

Nope---They stopped marketing Johnson in about 2007 ----Stopped Evinrude production last year.-----They are still supplying many parts for who knows how long.--- And that part is listed on another ( competitive ) site , a mere $30 for a new one.---Most shops might have a few of those laying around.----Your location ?

How did you bypass the part? Did you just read about it in the manual or was there a youtube video?

I have the exact same issue, my piece is broken so I am looking to bypass it.

Thanks!

you could probably take 2 short pieces of clear rigid plastic of tubing and mushroom the ends a bit to fit the hose section. Secure with tape or.. spend 30$
