I have 97 crownline with an omc 7.4 L with omc king cobra outdrive, the shifter is vulvo/penta. The motor idles and runs good. But when shifting from neutral to drive or reverse, it is pretty stiff, to the point that slow accceleration is difficult. When going back to neutral the shifter will lock into position but the prop is still pulling until I wiggle the shifter. I have checked the lube level in the outdrive and it is very close (1/8" inch low on dipstick), no water,looks and feels good. I read the threads in July about this and the cables feel ok but I have not messed with them much. I am not much of a mechanic, I do have a shop with some tools but not much experience. thank for any help. Larry
