OMC question Stern Drive specifically.

Hello I just bought my first boat. Unfortunatly it was a I/O that has the stern drive taken appart. The good news is the owner took it appart and put in new barings and other stuff and just lost interest and money to put back together,

Here is the issue.. He saw that the spline on the Water Pump Drive Shaft was a little damaged. He told me I could probably run it like it is but since *The Stern Drive is disassembled I may as well change it out. Where can I locate this Water Pump Drive Shaft New or Possibly Used.? I would really like to replace it and since it looks like a part that doesnt break easily I think a used one will be ok.

I do have the OMC stern drive manual with illustrations so reassembly should not be all that hard but I want to make sure I get it right the first time because doing it over again and again will get tiresome. Thanks for all info regarding this.

you can buy that shaft just about anywhere boat parts are sold.

if you want original equipment, your local Evinrude delaer has it
shop.evinrude.com will show you all the parts manuals for your drive system and engine- you can order the OEM one there online

You can also get aftermarket GLM or Sierra

probably have that here at iboats
