OMC- repair-boring??????

HELP! My OMC 1997,115hp, (jet) burned #4 piston.What would happen if the one cylinder was bored.30 an rings put on 1 cyl? Would it be as good as before repair,or viberation ect? null

I'm sure you mean .030 oversize. If the other 3 are in spec you can most certianly bore one. Use an E/J or Wiseco piston and the factory balance will be fine. <br /><br />The biggest thing is to figure out why the piston burned. Remember the tore up piston is a result -- not a cause. There were some adaptor plate issues with those motors allowing water in number 4. Check it out thouroughly.<br /><br />Good luck!

Why would you oversize only one cyl, the cost would be neglageble and the power gain worth it. But make sure you check for water or what-ever else may have burt your bullet. Go fast dude...
