OMC replacement 3.0 L Manifolds

Finally found replacement intake/exhaust manifold, any hints on removing old manifolds? 1989 OMC 3.0 L 4 CYL Cobra. I am worrying about my husband breaking off bolts (he is a gorilla) :) ... BYW I appreciate the help all of you guys have given me, hubby will take your advice, if I ask, but will not solicit it himself. He says that they should not shear, but I believe he should use impact wrench. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated for removal and installation. Yeah this gal loves to fish, hubby just likes to ride, (but when it gets warm) (my husband is one cheap *&#@*!) but he brought this toy for me and maintains it to the best of his ability, and has 2 count'em 2 daughters in nursing school, and has to count pennies for a few more years. Promised me a new Sea Pro once girls are out of school, but have to make do with what we have for now.

Your correct. The impact wrench will be your friend. Also, use some sort of liquid wrench on the bolts the day before. Heat from a torch will help you also. Be careful with a flame if you have any fuel nearby. Bert. :D

How can you get liquid wrench on threads that are not exposed? Threads are inside manifold.Inside if

go ahead & use impact wrench, won't hurt nothing. but when puttin bolts back in u might want to torque em down to specs using a torque wrench. however, i wouldn't use a torch in that engine compartment. too risky. by the way, i got the same cobra package in my boat & i'm also looking for manifold & elbow. where'd ya get yours?

thanks for the link. the price on that manifold is over $100. less than i've seen anywhere else!

i'm looking foe exh. manifold & elbow for 3.0 liter omc cobra. i contacted aftermarket.com but the parts are out of stock. does anyone have any ideas? coork did u have to wait for these parts or did they have them in stock when u ordered? :confused: :confused:
