I'm not sure of what you're asking me, however I think you want to know where the various colored wires of the OMC tachometer would connect to. If so, the explanation follows.<br /><br />Black = This tachometer wire would connect to any ground.<br /><br />Red = This would connect to your light switch. Voltage to this wire illuminates the tachometer for night viewing.<br /><br />Purple = This is the 12 volt source to the tachometer. Connect this wire to a source that would apply 12 volts ONLY when the ignition key is turned to the on position.<br /><br />Gray = This is the tachometer sensor wire. There should also a "gray" wire extending out of the engine instrument cable at the console if you are using a binacle control mount.<br /><br />If you're using one of the white OMC control boxes, it may be one that has a three (3) socket connector just below the ignition switch. In which case, those sockets consist of a black wire (ground), gray (sensor), and power (12 volt), configured as follows:<br /><br />.......Gray(sensor)<br />...........o<br /><br />......o.........o Black(ground)<br />.. Purple<br />...(12v)
