OMC Sea Drive

I am looking at a 1984 Grady White 19' with an OMC Sea Drive 115 HP. I have misgivings about the power set-up. If memory serves me correctly, doesn't this Sea Drive lock me into this motor only? Other makes, HP motors will not fit if I decide to repower? I have to install a whole new mount if I repower with something different?

I have a pair of 1987 1.6L 110 hp Sea Drives that I have had for 12 years. I have had no problems with the Sea Drive assemblies. They were made for OMC V4s and V6s. The powerheads are pretty much the same as the non Sea Drive units. I think you could re-power from a V4 to a V6 or vice versa but not to a Merc, Yammy or non OMC powerhead. If you get it make sure that you get the OMC service & parts manuals.
