OMC SeaDrive Model Number Help

I have recently purchased a boat with an <br />OMC SeaDrive. The Model Number is 1CBXCOM. The serial number is J862400. Can anyone help me figure out what horsepower and year it is?

That'd be a 2.5 liter, 1985 vintage.<br /><br />-John

Is there a correlation between 2.5L and horsepower? Do you know much about this motor?

Can't help with the hp as, for some reason, OMC did not advertise the hp rating of the SeaDrive line. They do, however, list the hp rating in the OMC shop manual specs. I suggest you get both the OMC shop and parts manual for your motor. The "off" brand manuals, even if they say they include SeaDrives, are sketchy at best.<br /><br />I have a pair of 1987 OMC V4 SeaDrives. No problems to speak of so far.

Ok, I found the hp info. The 2.5 liter SeaDrive used the same powerhead as the 155 hp Cross-Flow V6.<br /><br />-John
