OMC Seadrive problems

I have been having a problem with the tilt trim on my 3.0 seadrive. It will not go up or down. I hotwired the pump and it works both up and down. I activate the switch at the front and its sending signal to the back. The relays click but there is no up and down. I replaced the relays as well as the relay plug, none of which made a difference. Each individual part works and has been checked, but when everything is put together, it doesnt work.

Here's my real question, if I hot wire the pump straight from the switch, will it work? I of course would add fuses for safety. It seems like all of the relays and wires and connections is overkill on this system. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any ideas?

Re: OMC Seadrive problems

I wouldn't wire the mtr directly to the t/t switch because it won't handle the amperage load. The relays are put there for a reason, to handle the load. Your best bet is to check ALL the connections for corrosion or being loose seeing you're in a salt water area. The relays do the same thing that your starter solenoid does on your car.
