omc shift cable

I have secured a shift cable (982563) for a stringer mechanical drive but need to know how to attach it to the shift housing. It would appear special tools are needed for this and I'm not sure what kind and if they are still available. Thanks for any help on this one.

i know there really isnt any special tools required however there are procedeures for proper adjustments for forward and reverse and neutral on the converter housing. perhaps someone with greater knowlege could explain the procedure step by step?
