I have a 1977 orrion open bow with a OMC 140 engine #990236e1. The wiring from the shift interrupt switch and the over drive switch have been cut. Where do these 2 microswitches connect to? Also where does the shift assembly mount on the engine? As seen in this similar set up by the white arrow i do not have that black plug. :(

OMC sterndrives,Mechanical shift.
This list will tell you everything about the shift interrupter and the micro switches, What they do and how to set them.I used this when I converted to a full mechanical shift this year,READ IT, It works!
I bought a complete conversion OMC interuptern package on Ebay.
I still have the instructions on wiring it up if you need them.
I can copy them and send them to you.

By the way isn't a 1977 stringer an electric shift?
