Ive replaced, updated and adjusted all parts shifter cable parts at the sterndrive of my 86' OMC Cobra 3.0L according to all the online posts and updates, but the thing is still tough to shift forward and reverse. Today the 'throttle only' button on the shifter refused to push in, so now I'm eyeing the shifter assembly as the likely culprit. It's a Quicksilver model, so I'm not sure if it's even compatable with my Cobra setup at the rear. Is there any cable adjustment at the shifter to try and make it better or should I get a OMC-type shifter? My boat is running 100% and the stiff shifting is killing me!!
