I have a 1989 Marlin with an OMC outboard, Ford 302 inboard, the person I bought the boat from said he replaced the shifter cable and it needs to be adjusted. I took the boat out and it ran fine, then we threw out the anchor and swam for awhile, when we went to leave, the boat goes into gear but does not move. I checked to see if I had a spun hub, which I do not, I took the stern drive off and checked the dog clutch, everything is fine, so I am assuming that I need to adjust the shifter cables? I don’t know what else it could be. Boat goes into forward and reverse no problem, no weird noises, prop just does not turn. Anyone have any idea’s what this might be? I tried adjusting the lower shifter cable but do not have the special tools needed. I live n Sacramento California and cannot seem to find anyone willing to work on OMC.
