well, got that bell housing all drilled, out, and she fits like a glove. =]

Now ive got the motor in the boat, with the whole drive connected. Im trying to hook up the solenoid bracket, and it wont line up for me.

Do these brackets go between the engine and the bell? It appears this is the only way to make it work...... but like i said, the engine is already in and connected to the bell.

thanks for the replies

bottom of the manifold. if it has omc manifolds that is.

But actually it can be mounted on the wall doesn't have to be grounded to the block.

bottom of the exhaust manifold?

ok on the intake there is 2 studs that are the intake manifold (original replaced with edelbrock performer 351w), the bracket originally fit over there 2 studs. On the other end of the bracket seems to connect to the engine/bell or in between them.

The exhaust manifolds that i have are brand new and the sierra conversion kit.... NOT OMC

this is the bracket with the 3 solenoids, that fits on the back side of the engine.

I know it has the tilt motor solenoids all three on it. Again you can mount it anywhere. As i deducted you didn't go with oem parts no big deal.

Well once again we come to differences in years. FWIIW, my '75 mounts the two tilt solenoids direct to the top of the intermediate housing, just rear of the mounting bell.

The starter solenoid screws onto a little "L" channel bracket bolted to the back side of the starboard cylinder head.

My two 50a fuse connectors sat in a 'T" bracket whose tongue bolted to a hole in the back of the OEM cast iron intake manifold. As I am using an Edelbrock intake, I had to make a steel bracket to bridge two mounting holes that did not exist on the OEM intake. I then just bolted the original tongue of the fuse mount assy to that bridging bracket.
