OMC Spline Locker

I'm just in the process of replacing the ball gear on the intermediate housing shaft of my 1978 Stringer 400 outdrive and the manual calls for "OMC Spline Locker" to be put on the splines of the shaft and ball gear before installing the ball gear and torquing the 1 1/8 nut on the end.

Does anyone know what the equivalent would be? Loctite red?

Thanks in advance,

Taking a guess I say they mean something like red Loc-Tite

Re: OMC Spline Locker

I use Locktite's Bearing Mount.
It's green and fills clearances up to .020", where blue and red are only for .010" I believe.

but yeah, the idea is to seal and reduce vibration in the splines.
