OMC Stringer 165 Shifting Problem... (Electric Shift)

Took her out this weekend and found that when I put her in Forward, it seems like she's only "partially" in forward. I hear it "click" into gear (quietly) and she moves forward, but very very slowly. After 30-45 seconds, the louder more familiar "click" and off I go! It kind of feels like a clutch is only partially engaged at first, then fully engages.

Any ideas on what this may be???

She goes in reverse without any hesitation at all, just forward.

If the prop hub is good, you probably need to replace the plastic spacers...($8.00 a piece)

Once they have worn, it will shift slow and or slip.

Thanks. Do you have a part number by chance (for the plastic spacers)?

BRP Part # 310428 $ 5.99 each
I recommend you replace both FWD and REV.

We have covered this before... Do a search for:
"Electric shift slipping"
There may be some useful info there...

Good luck!
