OMC Stringer 800 Shift Cable

Im in the process of semi-rebuilding my Stringer 800 sterndrive. The shift cable had a few minor cracks and was stuck in the housing so i had to cut it to get it out. Does anyone know where i can get this cable for a reasonable price? The cheapest I found it so far was around $315. Thanks.

Ouch! but thats what I hear they cost. I don't think there are any after market cables made.

does anyone know if the cable with part number 982795 will work on my 82 stringer 800? the cable i need is part number 982563. thanks guys

where did you find the shift cable? did they have it instock or have to order? need one also...if you are looking at the one on ebay I don't think it will fit and besides it is a major repair to replace again to save a few bucks buying used. Have found that no one has the aftermarket glm cable available right now, they have been backordered since january.
