Is there a way to add a trim guage to a 1975 OMC Stringer 2.5l (120hp) motor? It's the one with the front trim screw that moves the whole motor and leg up and down.

I'm trying to get the boat trimmed properly but it is kinda hard not know where the trim is and whether I'm at a limit or not.

Thanks

the feel you are looking for is smoth you can feel it while under way adding a gauge is usless and will cost more than it is worth. plane boat and trim motor till it picks up speed and smoths out if it blows out you went to far. do not cheat by lifting tilt it will trash ball gears.

Does it have a sending unit on it where 2 wires come out at the front just under a plate held on with 4 bolts? If so, one of the wires goes to ground and the other goes to the gauge. I bought a used trim gauge at the local boat salvage yard and drilled a hole in the dash for it. The complete wiring diagram was in the book (seloc).

I'll have to check it out. I kinda figured that was a limit switch to kill the motor at either end of travel but I'll check it out.

Thanks
