so turns out there are some very intelligent ppl on iboats.
the issue is when the others chime in and push you in the wrong direction.
Thanks pros for all your info. Very helpful in my future journeys.
In the future when I see things I know I wont even comment because even though I may have experienced it before it may not be the same issue as them . Also pushing bad info clouds the good info that the people really need to see.
In closing I wanted to say thanks to all who have helped me with the priming and water passages in my sterndrive/outdrive/lower unit and many other names so I have learned. My best advice to new cadets coming in just get the manual, learn your boat well, then dig in . 90% of working on a boat I have found out is Knowledge of what everything is called, Money to fix what breaks, and Patience to not start it on fire when it costs you another 1000$ oh and finding parts suppliers who are reasonably inexpensive.
Good boating all , soon to be another blimp on the blue dot. one happy boat owner or untill tomorrow when something else breaks.
