EDIT: Sorry. soliciting is forbidden. I have a 1988 Johnson 90 hp with the plug under the key on the control. The boat has never had a tach and I want to install one.

I checked here at iboats, it's $40 for the part and $30 for shipping/tax/duty.

I called boats.net, but they wouldn't even guess at the cross boarder duties. Iboats calculates everything so I know what I'm getting into, I just don't want to double my purchase cost in shipping and duties..

I have a 1988 Johnson 110 on my Springbok and it didnt have a tach when I bought it. I found a used OMC tach and it came with the harness on it, as far as I know it's part of the tach, not a separate harness. Find a used OMC tach and you should be good to go.
Not sure where you boat but if it's in the Muskokas, you likely go through Orillia to get there. If so, there is a boat salvage yard just north of Orillia on Hwy 11 at the 4th line I believe, right at Burls Creek Park.

I don't see how you could do much better than $10.00 for new OEM one.

Thanks for the replies all. They are priced pretty cheap in the US, but the shipping and duty charges to get it to canada kill. 26 part + 21 shipping = 47 for a $10 part.

I'll check the boat graveyards here.
