Working on my boat I discovered that the OMC tach i got with my used Evinrude outboard, rests on 1100 rpm when lying in box. It this a sign of a defective tach ??
it reads the last rpms it was at when the power was cut off.if you apply power to it and it stays at that rpm then yes its defective,but if it reads 0 when power is applied then its fine
