tach

picked up a tach for our '61 V4....there is a grey wire that goes to the points-mag. or battery, ignition....so the grey wire can go to anyone of these connection points or is the points the only or best place to connect.
The black wire goes to ground...then there are 4 connection points on the back also...C, 2, 3, 4....and says connect shorting terminals as follows: for the number of pulses per revolution generated by the above connected point contact ...meaning the grey wire I guess....since this is a V4 I would use the 4?? and connect it to what...and what is the C terminal for?

I have the grey wire in the ignition harness and a ground from the ignition light....thanks for any help.... the pic is a little small...

Jumpers???.........That would most likely be the C 2 3 4 terminals on the back...For the V4 what goes to where?....I don't have a M terminal on the ignition switch. There is a grey wire I traced back to the breaker point side of the coil. And a ground lead coming off the grounded side of the ignition light.
