OMC Tach

A buddy gave me a omc tach 0-6000 and I'd like to install it on my boat. Mtr is a 1975 evinrude 85hp. This tach has 4 wires gray,black,purple & blue. It has a switch labled H,2,3,4,6. Also has three plugs in the back two small ones that don't seem to want to come out and a large one that has a, well it looks like a pot under it. It's a pretty old tach it, cleaned up real nice. If any one has some information on this it would sure help.

Match up the wires to the ones in your harness and set it on position 6.<br /><br />Grey = sender<br />Purple = key on 12 volts<br />Black = ground<br />Blue = light<br /><br />Good luck!

Thank you Dhadley, I'll try it out, do you know what the potentiometer type knob does? It lives under the larger of the three plugs, just wondering.
