...does anyone know what the difference is between them? will they interchange?
The back story is that I put a 1990 70hp power head on a 1992 60 hp midsection...The 60 had overheated and was toast, the 70 suffered a glancing blow from a tree and the hood & tray were severely cracked (power head was untouched)
The other night we installed the timer base, stator, flywheel and wire harness from the 60 onto the 70. After checking things we put some gas to her and she fired up and ran pretty good.
Anyway, the 70 doesn't have the switch, just a plug in its place...the 60hp had it and because I am using the harness from that motor, I am wondering if the warning horn on my adapter wire harness (red plug to system check?...just arrived today) will constantly sound if it's not hooked up, or, if I am confident that the motor is not over heating, can I just leave it unplugged?
I won't be able to play around with it for a few days, so I am curious.
Thanks,
DW
