I have a omc 800 small block 305 w/ a closed fwc system ( heat exchanger) by san juan engineering. The original upper t-stat housing is custom made by them and is copper with a steelbase. I need to replace but am wondering if I can use another style. I see a mercruiser housing looks similar with the same 2 hose barbs at roughly the same angle is iron and much less expensive. Any thoughts or part number recommendations?
