Omc throttle control?

Does anyone have a OMC throttle control similar to this one pictured? I know it locks out of reverse but should you need to depress lock out button to throttle forward? It goes about 1/3 forward without depressing button and full forward when depressed.

I have one that is similar to yours. having the button prevents accidental engagement. does yours pull sideways for neuteral ? mine is on a 85 penn yan tornado II

yes it does pull sideway for reving in neutral. so foward discription i gave is correct about having to depress lockout button?

I have the exact same control on mine. I always depress the button. Never had any problems.

thanks handle was always loose since i had the boat and never had to depress for forward or reverse. then found adjust bolt in center and tighten it and that's when it needed to be depressed. thanks for the info.
