I have a 1998 omc single throttle for my 1998 225 johnson. I just bought the boat and had disconnected the throttle so I could paint the center council. I marked the two cables and after painting replaced them in the throttle. I didnt realize until I took the boat out that the throttle isnt working properly in reverse. It runs fine in forward, but in reverse I can only move the control back about 20% of total and then the cable sets and doesnt allow it to go any farther, while it does go in reverse I cannot power it, it just goes very slow. Unlike when in forward only 1 cable moves. Im mechanically inclined but Im not familiar with how the throttle works so Im stumped. The throttle will go fully forward position as well as in reverse position but only when the disengage button on top of throttle housing is pushed in, but this is for rev the engine I believe. Ive only been out in the boat 1x so I have no experience with the throttle to tell if something is diferrent now than before I took it off the council. Thanks, Pete
